New measures to grow the cooperative and social economy in Barcelona

The Council works to foster, strengthen the economy and promote cooperative social solidarity as one of the tools to respond to the emergency situation socioeconomic living in the city. One of the first actions is the implementation of an emergency plan, with a budget of more than 650,000 euros, which promotes stable employment, entrepreneurship and training, and wants to fight the feminization of poverty.

The cooperative economy, social solidarity and Barcelona already has nearly 4,600 companies that generate 50,000 jobs and have nearly half a million customers and consumers.
