The “Housing First” service receives the recognition of good social practices of the Barcelona City Council

11 July, 2018

The “Housing First” service received an award and recognition of good social practices by the City Council of Barcelona the last June 22. The project, promoted by the city and managed by the UTE San Pere Claver-Suara-Garbet, is a pilot program of immediate access to the dwelling and socio-educational support for homeless and at serious risk of social exclusion.

In the name of the "Housing First" service, Anna García, Director of the project, and Andrés Molina, educator, picked up the recognition. During the evening other 6 projects received the same recognition.
This initiative, promoted by the Barcelona City Council, collects a set of good practices arising from the Area of social rights both for internal management and the provision of services, whether own or in participation with the third sector or other administrations. The aim is to give visibility to the useful work that gives satisfactory results, highlighting the knowledge and experience of professionals and also make good practices to grow from the learning generated throughout the process.
