22 May, 2018

The infant school El Petit Montgrí, of Torroella de Montgrí and managed by Suara Cooperativa, welcomed on May 5 the third territorial meeting of Green infant schools. The Conference brought together a total of 38 representatives from different schools in Catalonia, which included two other municipal schools managed by Suara: Els Picarols, of Manlleu, and Els Belluguets, of Palafrugell.

The Councillor for education of the municipality, Anna Maria Mercader, inaugurated the meeting, which served as the space for exchange and reflection upon sustainability among the participants, who came from central Catalonia, Vallès Oriental, Maresme and surroundings. Some of the events included in the program were the narration of a story, to explain how to integrate the values of the green school program, and some workshop to share experiences.

Petit Montgrí is pleased with the participation and the hosting of the event. "As a team the meet as worked very well for us, because we could see what are doing other schools and that reaffirmed us in the way we do and live to be a Green School," explains the director of the Center, Monica Arribas.

Furthermore, the impact of receiving the badge, last November after a long process of two years, has been very positive for the infant school. According to Arribas, "during the open doors we could confirmed that both the families and the Town Hall perceive Petit Montgrí as a respectful school, by our way of working and our values".
