The “Recompte 2016″ located 941 people sleeping on the street in Barcelona and 1973 housed in facilities

About 930 volunteers participated last 18 May in the count organized by the Network of Care for Homeless (XAPSLL), which accounted in Barcelona a total of 941 people spending the night in the street and 1973 housed in municipal or various social organizations, social support or flats with pensions. Suara Cooperativa offices in Barcelona were used as headquarters of the count overnight.
According to the latest available data, which are available on the web http://recompte.barcelona, people sleeping on the street were 892 in 2015 and 1672 were in the different types of accommodation.
For the first time, the count has covered all the streets of the city, with the deployment of 216 groups of volunteers, and also included the participation of other municipal services that have been data for mountain areas, closed parks and some more areas difficult.
According to the data collected overnight, which have a provisionally until they verify all records and analyzed in a detailed report has been located at:

-Eixample: 220 people
-Sants-Montjuic: 144 people
-Les Corts: 45 people
-Sarrià – Sant Gervasi: 58 people
-Gràcia: 46 people
-Horta – Guinardó: 30 people
-Nou Barris: 30 people
-Sant Andreu: 18 people
-Sant Martí: 135 people
-Parcs i Jardins: 30 people
