The social organizations claim the independence of third sector in relation to the political powers

The collaboration with the Administration must include the participation in the development of public policies and has to be compatible with the critical voice and the transforming action
“Our main priority is to transform society in a more equal and fair place. We can do this working in different areas and collaborating with all of those who can contribute: public administrations, political powers, social movements… But always keeping our independence and not losing our reason for being: be close to people, particularly those belonging to vulnerable groups, respecting its rights as a citizens”. The President of ECAS Teresa Crespo expressed these words during the conference “Governance, role and incidence of third sector in the current context”, which was organized in Barcelona with the participation of a hundred social professionals.
