The Table Third Sector alerts about the obsolescence of the model of care for elderly people

The Table Third Sector, which groups over 3.000 social organizations, presented this Thursday in Ateneu Barcelonès the report ‘Listen to me! Person-centered care in supporting the aging process’. The report was presented by one of his authors, the journalist Elisenda Rovira.

 

Some experts of different social organizations participated in the debate: Mercè Mas, manager of FATEC, Meritxell Milian, professional of the Association of Families of Alzheimer’s Patients of Catalonia, and Pilar Rodríguez, manager of the Operative Unite of the Association Welfare and Development. 
 
The Table Third Sector believes that is necessary to reformulate the model of care for elderly people, because of the increase of people over the 65 years, the good health and the high level of life quality of these people.
