The Table warns that the working conditions of youth people are much worse than those of previous generation

19 December, 2016

The Table Third Sector, who groups over 3.000 social organizations, presented last week the report “The youth precarious jobs. An uncomfortable reality” in the context of a new debate of the cycle “Social Catalonia”.

The report has been created by M. Àngels Cabasés, professor of Applied Economics in Lleida University, Agnès Pardell, professor of Labour Law and Social Security of UdL and Carles Feixa, professor of Social Anthropology of UdG.

For the first time, a report proves that young people under 30 years old is in a worst situation than young people under 30 years old in 2000, in relation to levels of studies, monthly remuneration and contracts entered. Table Third Sector warns that currently, the working offers to young people are characterized by temporality, involuntary partiality, overqualification, low salaries and inexistent social protection. A model of precarious occupation that will remain in the future.
