Third Table denounces an assistance gap in the care of children with mental health problems

The Third Table, which groups over 3.000 social organizations, presented last 13th February the report ‘Mental Health care of children and adolescents. New answers to confront a growing challenge’ in the framework of the cycle ‘Social Catalonia’ celebrated at the Ateneu Barcelonès.

The report was presented by Anna Suñer, coordinator of the Catalonia Childhood Platform (PINCAT) and the event included the participation of Carme Grifoll, manager of Nou Barris Foundation (Mental Health Forum), Marta Poll, manager of the Federation of Mental Health in Catalonia and Carme Calafat, manager of Children, Family and Gender Department of ABD (FEDAIA and FCD).

The report argues that there are increasingly situations of children and adolescents mental health, which present a higher complexity and require a more coordinated work of the involved agents. The report also argues that is necessary to define a comprehensive approach, which thinks about the person who consults and his family.
