The Girona’s Family Guidance Local Service will advise 587 families from 86 locations in its sixth edition
14 October, 2013
The Girona’s Provincial Council Family Guidance Local Service (SLOF, for its Catalan acronym), managed by Suara Cooperative , will start the new year expanding the number of families to whom the service is provided. This season 2013-2014, the SLOF will offer guidance to a total of 587 families from 86 Girona municipalities of less than 10,000 inhabitants: 90 families more than those attended during the 2012-2013 course.
This year the SLOF also expands the number of municipalities where the service will be offered directly: a total of 31 locations -instead of the last year’s 21-, while in the remaining 55 municipalities the families interested in the service will be derived to one of the 31 municipalities that provide the SLOF directly.
The sixth edition of Girona’s SLOF will also organize three informative lectures open to all citizens, and will recover the Individualized Attention Service for families.
The Family Guidance Local Service is a resource offered by the Girona’s Provincial Council Social Action Area which aims to provide free advice to all families with children up to 18 years who reside in towns of less than 10,000 inhabitants. The service, funded by the Provincial Council and managed by the municipalities, wants to be a tool to increase the family life quality.
The service, in operation since 2008, is highly regarded by the beneficiary families: according to the Provincial Council, the previous year participating families qualified the service as "very satisfactory", awarding it with a score of 9.59 over a maximum of 10 points.
