The visit, led by the general co-direction of Suara, Tomàs Llompart and Laura Peracaula, and the director of the customer area Laura Gómez, has served to explain to Gay and Fuertes the projects and services offered by the cooperative, especially in the city of Barcelona.

In a tour of the facilities, the second deputy mayor was also able to see first hand, the latest projects promoted by Suara cooperative, whose pillar is to apply innovation to improve people's lives.

In this context, Gay was able to see the Social Digital Lab, which is the first startup incubator specializing in care in Catalonia. One of the main objectives of this living lab is to promote co-creation between professionals, clients, people cared for and experts, mainly to offer innovative solutions linked to health, as well as initiatives aimed at homeless people, children and young people.

One of the Social Digital Lab projects that Gay was able to see how it works is the immersive reality room, recently created in collaboration with Broomx. In this space, virtual and immersive reality is used to offer therapies to improve the care and well-being of people.

Precisely, the commitment to implement innovation to offer a better service to people, especially from the Social Digital Lab, meant that at the end of 2022 the cooperative was recognized with the distinctive IP22@, awarded by the business association 22@Network BCN in recognition of those projects that contribute to the perception of the 22@ district and the city of Barcelona as an international hub of reference in innovation.

During his tour, Gay also visited the Independent Living Center, which Suara hosts at its headquarters. This initiative recreates a fully accessible and digital housing so that people with reduced mobility can have an autonomous life. This space combines the latest innovations in home automation with other simpler tools in order to find the one that best suits each person and their needs.
