Suara Cooperativa has recently appeared in the Parliament of Catalonia to address homelessness. She has been invited by the Social Rights Commission in the framework of the processing of the "Proposal of Law on transitional and urgent measures to deal with and eradicate homelessness", with the aim of sharing her expertise in this area.

Within this legislative procedure, Maite Mauricio and Sergi Bota, representatives of Suara, have formulated proposals to combat homelessness that have been collected by the parliamentary groups with the intention of incorporating them into the final text of the law.

In this sense, both Suara professionals have warned of the need to develop immediate actions with the ability to activate the rights of homeless people, as subjects with full rights (both at individual and collective level) equating them to the rest of the citizenry.

And for this reason, in their appearance they have questioned all the administrations, entities and society in general in matters of collective responsibility regarding this phenomenon.

Likewise, Maite Mauricio and Sergi Bota have also highlighted the need to contemplate a model of care for homeless people with perspective and real capacity for improvement in relation to the devices, instruments and ultimately, the system for addressing the homelessness (on a preventive and combative level).

Everything, to guarantee quality, specialization (in technical and methodological issues), distribution and endowment of resources as well as professional conditions and tools, both for entities and administrations for research, design of policies and services, the attention and evaluation.

Finally, in order to carry out these measures, Suara representatives have pointed out the fundamental role played by having a regulatory framework able to articulate the plans and strategies to be developed to put a stop to homelessness, considering this law proposal as a great opportunity, aimed at recognizing the rights and guaranteeing the attention of homeless people.
