Suara closed the year 2022 with a turnover of more than €118.1 million (+9.5% compared to 2021) and having served 38,918 people (+14% compared to 2021). Of this income, 65% is for activities linked to health, care for the dependent and the promotion of autonomy; 26% are for activities linked to social services and 7% for activities linked to education.

Suara has no desire for profit and reinvests surpluses in its own activity, so beyond income, the cooperative generates great social value in society. For this reason, for the sixth year, it calculates the Integrated Social Value, which quantifies (on a monetary scale) the global value of the cooperative by adding the social value (that which the different interest groups identify as the value that Suara brings them) and the economic.

This calculation is made following the methodology promoted by Economics professor José Luís Retolaza (University of Deusto) and his GEAccounting team. An objective methodology that visualizes the value created by an entity according to what it contributes to end customers, public and institutional customers, suppliers, partners, employees, etc. This specific social value is calculated taking into account factors such as the improvement of the quality of life of the people served, the generation of employment, professional development, innovation in services, etc.

The integrated social value of Suara Cooperativa during 2022 was more than €244 million (+12.6% compared to 2021). Suara's balance sheet for 2022 was approved at the General Assembly of partners at the end of May.

The team of professionals grows by 6% and the Assembly by 10%

With regard to the team of professionals, the year 2022 has closed with a figure of 4,979 people hired (including members), 6% more than in 2021. The Assembly, with 1,408 members, registers a 10% growth. Of the entire Suara Cooperativa team, 88% are women and 70% have an indefinite contract or are members.

Suara Cooperativa has as its clients nearly 40 town councils throughout Catalonia, 5 regional councils, 4 consortia, the Provincial Council of Barcelona and the Generalitat de Catalunya (Department of Social Rights, Department of the Vice-Presidency, Digital Policies and Territory and Department of Justice), in addition to other institutional and private clients.

According to a survey of more than 3,300 people served by Suara Cooperativa, the rating of the service is 8.8 and 9 out of 10 would recommend it. In turn, the satisfaction of paying customers (mostly administrations) has been 8.5 and the recommendation score is 8.80. Of all the people treated, 63.7% were women.

The commitment to innovation

Innovation is one of Suara's core values. The cooperative works and promotes innovation to improve people's lives by promoting intrapreneurship; facilitating collaboration with the start-up ecosystem; generating co-creation spaces and collaborating with universities, administrations, social and technological companies.

This 2022, Suara Cooperativa has launched the Social Digital Lab, an innovation project in social services that will be inaugurated this 2023 and which wants to respond to new needs with the creation of the first incubator specialized in care in Catalonia.

The Suara headquarters will also host, from 2022, the digital home of the Center for Independent Living, a completely accessible and digital space, equipped with the latest developments in healthcare home automation. Suara also has an immersive technology space that allows the development of innovative solutions to respond to social challenges in the field of health and well-being.

During 2022, the cooperative has also participated in 8 pilot tests to implement technological solutions in the care area and in 10 hackathons to promote innovation in its services.
