Suara has launched the SuaraLab, the social innovation laboratory of the Cooperative located at 22@ in Barcelona, which was born with the aim of responding to social challenges in a disruptive way to transform the environment and care for people. The act of public presentation took place on Wednesday, January 16 with the assistance of more than a hundred people from the social sector, innovation, entrepreneurship, universities and companies and was chaired by the general director of the Digital Society of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Joana Barbany "It is important to humanize technology: an experience like SuaraLab allows women to become more involved in technological innovation in a very masculine sector," said Barbany.

The director of Innovation of Suara, Jordi Picas, stated that SuaraLab “will allow the development of digital projects and services in the field of attention to people, reinforce intrapreneurial and startup ecosystem, and bring innovation to all projects of the organization”. As a result of this commitment to innovation, SuaraLab promotes co-creation spaces by bringing together professionals, clients, people served and experts to generate new ideas and projects through agile methodologies. The Suara’s CEO, Àngels Cobo, stressed the importance of “thinking about the use of technology to accompany us in the work of caring for people”.

After the first months of operation of SuaraLab, some innovation projects have already begun to be incubated, such as the launch of the Infobarris mobile application, the Peers program for homelessness or the Bcn4All program to promote inclusive tourism, among others. The incubated projects were presented during the presentation ceremony of the SuaraLab, which also included the talk by Xavier Ferràs “A look into the future: the impact of technological disruption on the economy and society” and served as a closing event for the acts of commemoration of the 10 years of Suara Cooperativa.
