Suara Cooperativa participates in the Next Diversitat i Empresa Program promoted by the Department of Business and Work of the Generalitat de Catalunya with European Next Generation funds and jointly coordinated by ECAS (federation of Social Action Entities of Catalonia) and PIMEC (Micro, small and medium-sized companies in Catalonia).

Almost 1,800 people in a vulnerable situation -people with disabilities, long-term unemployed or recipients of guaranteed citizenship income, among others- will be able to participate throughout Catalonia in tailor-made itineraries of accompaniment, training and guidance to facilitate and promote their employment in the ordinary market. It is one of the main objectives of the Next Diversitat i Empresa Program, a project promoted by the Department of Business and Work, financed by the European Union through the Next Generation fund and jointly coordinated by ECAS, the federation of Catalan social action entities , and PIMEC, the employers' association of micro, small and medium-sized companies in Catalonia, and with the participation of more than 30 social entities that are responsible for the deployment of the project throughout the territory, including Suara Cooperativa.

"Programs like Next Diversitat i Empresa are fundamental in the current situation", explains Mariona Puigdellívol, director of ECAS. According to data collected in INSOCAT15, the last report for the improvement of social action presented by the federation a month ago, we are in a complex moment in terms of the perpetuation of inequalities and the chronicling of poverty, with 25.9% of the Catalan population suffering from poverty or social exclusion. Programs are needed that specifically accompany people at risk of exclusion, especially groups with very high unemployment rates - such as people between the ages of 16 and 24 or the long-term unemployed - so that they have the opportunities and can develop the necessary skills to get out of the vulnerable situation in which they find themselves. And this is precisely one of the core objectives of the Next Diversity and Enterprise project.

With the aim of responding to the vulnerable situation of the beneficiaries of this program, and in collaboration with the business network of SMEs in Catalonia, the design of Diversity Plans, a tool that will favor the inclusion and management of diversity in the company. Within this call, PIMEC is tasked with raising awareness and promoting these Plans to more than 700 companies. "Supporting companies in the development of corporate social responsibility actions opens the door to making SMEs more committed to people from vulnerable situations," explains Héctor Pérez, director of PIMEC's Training and Employment Services.

Both the Diversity Plans in companies and the Orientation Processes for participating people will be developed until September 30, 2023.
